S&OP software for the entire planning process

Discover our Sales & Operations Planning Software: Your solution for efficient planning

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) describes the cross-functional and cyclically recurring management process for the tactical planning and control of supply chains.

Germanegde’s S&OP software (also known as Demand & Inventory Balancing Software) helps you to harmonise the operational areas so that demand and supply are perfectly in tune. In this way, you model and orchestrate the entire strategic-tactical rough-cut planning process.

Advantages of our S&OP software

Continuous controlling: feedback loops as a plan-actual instance

The S&OP software enables routine and systematic reporting and measurement of actual performance against plan.

OTIF

Bidirectional data transfer

With the production logistics model of SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA and other ERP systems, a bidirectional data transfer takes place within the SOP software.

All workflows at a glance

With our S&OP software, you have all important information on customers, suppliers and KPIs at a glance at all times. You can fulfil customer requirements taking into account the overall corporate strategy and bottleneck planning and align them with key figures.

Agile management

With the Sales & Operations Planning software, you always have an overview of the entire planning process, can run simulations, plan scenarios and make smart decisions.

High profitability

A coherent and balanced plan stands for customer service, lowers inventory, reduces waste and helps align decisions with financial goals.

logic

Avoidance of information silos

With the S&OP software you create transparency and always have the big picture of your planning in view, so you can consistently align the departmental goals with the company goals.

Functions of our Sales & Operations Planning Software

ai

Set up data model

With ERP master data, you can quickly set up a data model with the S&OP software.

MPA function for planning

You can use the S&OP software to create a care plan.

mouse

Use of detailed planning methods

The S&OP software gives you all the relevant planning information at a glance.

Capacity planning

You can create various capacity profiles with the S&OP software.

Integration into existing production

You can integrate the Sales & Operations Planning software into the existing production and thus create a definitive supply plan.

Quickly set up a data model based on ERP master data

With our S&OP tool, you can use the existing master data to quickly set up a data model on this basis. Some examples of this are the use of existing material master data, routings and work centres and their associated capacities. The master data maintained in the ERP can be analysed and checked and it is possible to extend the data model from other sources.

(Automated) combined material and capacity planning with exception-based warnings

The S&OP tool offers a function (MPA) that is similar to the MRP run in SAP ERP to create a supply plan/master plan. Among other things, material master parameters are taken into account and parts lists are used to calculate material consumption. The software reacts to outliers in the planning and automated material and capacity planning, including levelling, is possible with it.

Precise results

The MPA (Material Planning Algorithm) of the Sales & Operations Planning process integrates all relevant planning information (e.g. co-products, secondary resources, labour, shelf life, etc.) and thus provides detailed results on: Capacity utilisation, production plan, stock forecast, demand for raw materials.

Capacity maintenance

Using our software, it is possible to change the capacity profiles (intervals and shifts). The MPA then takes the adjusted capacities into account in the next run. The adjustments made to the capacity profile can be saved in SAP ERP.

Close integration with requirements planning and detailed scheduling

You can include existing production and demand in the creation of the supply plan using the Sales & Operations Planning Tool. This results in a final, capacity-tested and harmonised supply plan. You can transfer this to detailed production planning as input for the next planning cycle.

What is Sales & Operations Planning?

Definition

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) software is a technological tool that helps companies integrate and optimise their sales and operations strategies. The software helps to create, manage and analyse data to coordinate demand and supply planning. This includes aligning sales forecasts with production planning, inventory management, supply chain and financial plans. The aim is to improve decision-making, increase efficiency and better fulfil customer needs by taking a holistic view.

Why is S&OP software relevant for your company?

S&OP software is relevant to your business for several reasons:

  • Improved forecasting accuracy: by integrating sales and operational data, more accurate demand forecasts can be made, leading to better planning and reduction of excess inventory.
  • Optimised resource planning: The software helps to align production plans with actual sales figures, allowing resources to be used more efficiently.
  • Increased transparency and communication: S&OP software promotes collaboration between different departments (e.g. sales, production, finance), resulting in improved internal communication and faster decision-making.
  • Risk minimisation: By identifying imbalances between supply and demand at an early stage, companies can react more quickly and minimise risks such as production bottlenecks or excess stock.
  • Cost reduction: Optimised planning helps to avoid unnecessary costs by making production and supply chain processes more efficient.

What factors influence the quality of the S&OP solution?

The quality of an S&OP solution is influenced by several factors:

  • Data integration and quality: the ability of the software to seamlessly integrate data from different sources (e.g. ERP systems, CRM systems, inventory management) and provide high-quality, up-to-date data is crucial.
  • Ease of use: An intuitive user interface and ease of use are important to ensure that all relevant departments can use the software effectively.
  • Scalability: The S&OP solution should be able to grow with the growth and changing requirements of the organisation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: The software should be customisable to support specific business processes and requirements.
  • Analytical capabilities: Strong analytical and reporting capabilities are important to make informed decisions. This includes predictive analyses, scenario planning and KPI tracking.
  • Integration of AI and machine learning: Modern S&OP solutions that use AI and machine learning can provide more accurate forecasts and make better optimisation suggestions.
  • Support and training: Good support from the provider and training programmes for employees contribute to the successful implementation and use of S&OP software.
